Yet another day to thank Groupon for our activity; downhill biking from Vail Pass to Frisco.
After breakfast in our condo, we headed off to Pioneer Sports in Frisco. Here we picked out our bikes and boarded the shuttle bus that would take us west to the top of Vail Pass on interstate 70.
Vail Pass is the highest point on I-70, coast to coast, at 10,662. There is a 7-8% slope from here down both sides of the pass, which makes for very easy and fast biking.
We quickly biked the 14+ miles back to Frisco, stopping to take pictures here and there. The entire way was a nicely paved, two way bike trail that followed the I-80 corridor.
This particular day in Frisco was their annual BBQ festival and the streets downtown were packed. We headed to Moose Jaw Tavern for lunch, before heading our for a little more biking.
From downtown Frisco, we headed toward Lake Dillon and explored it. This portion of the biking, required peddling, so it was not long before we’d had enough and headed back to turn in the bikes.
We stopped off for yogurt at Spooner’s (same concept as RedBerry), before heading back to our condo for dinner and a movie.
