Family (and Eve’s first) Trip to Blue Springs

09Aug 2012May 22, 2015

At least a couple of times every year, we make the hour or so drive from Brevard County to Blue Springs State Park in Orange City.  This time was a rare one, because all of the Drummond boys came with their families. This was officially Eve’s first trip to the springs.  She kept up her trend of not being like Jessica, and loved it.

Brandon's first day on his Signal Yup arrived and mine on my new NITRO Squash. The powder...finally, making a near perfect day on the mountain. Snow off and on and bluebird between.

Turned out the Brandon's Yup was too narrow, and his heal would slip out, so he rode most of the day on my Burton Custom.

This was my (green helmet) first day on the mountain this season and Brandon's (white helmet) 4th. Not typical January conditions at all, but still a lot of fun.

Filmed on GoPro Hero 9, with horizon leveling on.

We spent the weekend in the high country camping on forest service roads, near Montezuma, and exploring for fall colors. While we missed the peak, there was still plenty to see.

A short and easy hike, right off of US-6, offers great views of Dillon Reservoir.

This was Sophie's first real hike. It was just over 2 miles roundtrip, but she absolutely loved it...but was out as soon as we got back to the van.
