I often get asked about the products I’ve utilized in the building of NARV 2.0. Here I’ve consolidated most of the items which are available from Amazon.

Internal Electrical

Vmaxtanks VMAXSLR125 AGM 12V 125Ah SLA Rechargeable Deep Cycle Battery

This battery is rated very high and considered one of the best AGMs available.

Renogy 1000W 12V Pure Sine Wave Inverter Charger

I highly recommend getting an Inverter/Charger. It will make your charging life so much easier.

12-Way Fuse Block With ground

I am actually very impressed with this. Really good price and includes everything.

Recessed Ceiling Lights

These are a common item across the vanlife community. Cheap, dimmable, and reliable.

Ancor Marine Grade Duplex and Triplex Wire

While you may be tempted to go cheap here, don’t. Splurge for the good stuff.

12V Dual USB Charger Power Outlet with Switch

Lesson learned from past builds…ensure your outlets either have NO lights, or can be turned off. It is surprising how bright these little things are when you are trying to sleep.

4″ Clear Lens White 12V 6 Diodes Sealed Utility Strip Bar Lights

These were used in all storage compartments. Cheap, durable, and bright enough.

Dual Battery Isolator Kit

This allows you to charge your house battery from your alternator. You can override this too, to jump the car from the house battery, if needed…And I’ve needed it.

2 Pack Car Cigarette Lighter Socket

Originally meant for a low-to-the-floor outlet to power a 12v portable fridge.

4 Pack UL Heavy Duty Wire Lugs

Used for terminating all the 4AWG wire.

4 AWG 10 Feet Red + 10 Feet Black

Needed for all wiring between battery, isolater, and inverter/charger.

4 Gauge AWG in-Line ANL Fuse Holder

Dedicated fuse for inverter

Group 27 Snap-Top Battery Box

Nothing fancy or expensive here. My only requirement was that it be able to strap down.

Battery Capacity Voltage Meter with Alarm

Very affordable and capable battery meter. Alarm will sound at 20%, but with AGM, you had better not let it get that low.

Replacement LED Bulb

The factory bulbs in the van are hot, dim, and inefficient. Swap them out for cheap.

Facon 12Volt DC Touch Dimmer Switch

Not my favorite dimmer, but the only one which would fit in the spot needed. I honestly prefer this one.

300 Amp ANL Fuses

While not needed for the build, because the fuse holder came with one. These were needed as spares in the gear box.

JR Products 12225 Black Single SPST On-Off Switch with Bezel

Nothing special. Small. Black. Reliable.

JR Products 12235 Black Double SPST On-Off Switch with Bezel

Nothing special. Small. Black. Reliable. Times two.

Tools

KSP Torsion Key Bar Removal Unloading Tool Forged Steel (Grey)

You will need this to remove and install the new torsion keys. You “can” do this with a C-Clamp, but I would not recommend it.

Exterior

BLACK RHINO WARLORD 17×9.0 5/127 ET-12 CB71.6 MATTE GUNMETAL

This is the second van which I’ve installed these. I’m a big fan of Black Rhino’s products. Mine are 17×9, +12 offset.

BFGoodrich ALL-TERRAIN T/A KO2 All-Terrain Radial Tire – 265/70-17 112S

I’ve had Falkins, Coopers, and BFGs; and in my opinion BFGs are the cream-of-the-crop. I bought load rating E, 10 ply.

Aluminess Ladder

There are cheaper options…but not as nice.
